The Town of Seekonk is seeking a Conservation Agent with the Conservation Commission. Duties include administering and enforcing the Wetlands Protection Act and the Town of Seekonk Wetlands General Protection By law; coordinating Conservation Commission activities; providing stewardship for lands held in conservancy; reviewing wetland delineations; serving as liaison to applicants, their representative, and other town boards; and supervising a part-time Conservation Assistant.

Must have working knowledge of MA Wetlands Protection Act, related conservation laws and regulations and experience in enforcing them. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, civil engineering, or related field and minimum of two years relevant professional experience. BUILDING COMMISSIONER/ZONING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The Town of Seekonk seeks qualified applicants for the position of Building Commissioner/Zoning Enforcement Officer.   Interpret and enforce the State Building Code and the Town’s Zoning Bylaws.  Issue building permits; conduct inspections; supervise part-time wiring, gas and plumbing inspectors, and office staff; interact regularly with other departments in the application of safety codes; conduct site plan reviews, and advise relevant boards and committees; and, enforce the decisions of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.  Must be certified as building commissioner, or qualified for a conditional appointment, per MGL Ch. 143. A minimum of five years experience in building code enforcement or residential and commercial building construction, and a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field is required.  Salary is $ 57,638.16.  Submit resume to Town Administrator, Town of Seekonk, 100 Peck Street, Seekonk, MA  02771.  Position will remain open until filled.  The Town is an AA/EOE
