TOWN OF SEEKONK

The Town of Seekonk seeks qualified applicants for one (1) position as ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER and one (1) position as ASSISTANT ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER.  Duties will include, but will not be limited to enforcing all Town By-Laws and Massachusetts General Laws pertaining to dogs/cats and in some cases, other animals and to perform the duties of "Dog Officer" as described in Chapter 140. The Assistant Animal Control Office works under the supervision of the Animal Control Officer. Veterans Agent/Outreach Worker

The town of Seekonk is accepting applications for a Veterans Agent/Outreach Worker.  This position is directly responsible to the DIrector of Human Services.  This position would provide advocacy (at the Director's discretion) in areas such as legal, health, Social Security, Food Stamps, housing, medical and fuel assistance for citizens throughout the community, as well as veteran's benefits offered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The candidate must be able to meet all qualifications required by law and must be a veteran.                             Salary range is $34,548 to $38,122.

DISPATCHER

The Town of Seekonk is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the positions of Full-Time Public Safety Dispatcher. The dispatch center is a combination Police, Fire and EMS Center.  The positions require knowledge of public safety dispatching procedures including: answering calls for service, E-911 calls, monitoring and communicating on multiple radio frequencies.  Prerequisites include a high school diploma or equivalent, keyboard and computer CAD skills. Massachusetts State 911 certification and knowledge of I.M.C. a plus. Must be willing to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to earn and maintain state certifications.
